For the past year or so I’ve been a part of the Rideshare program at work. I was able to purchase a Monthly Metro Pass at a discount, and received a discount on food purchases at work. It was a pretty good deal. However, last month I was told that I was no longer eligible to participate. It comes down to money, of course, as our passes were subsidized by the parent corporation. It’s not that big of a deal, but I was only using the train on the trip in, and then riding my bike home. So without a discounted pass, it’s more trouble than it’s worth to use the train now. I was not riding enough to warrant buying any of the weekly or monthly passes, so that meant buying a ticket for every line, every day. Tedious stuff.

So after my morning ride with Lance Armstrong a couple of weeks ago, I thought I could/should do this more often. The morning is cooler anyways so I don’t get too hot on the way in. The biggest advantage of course is that my weekly mileage has gone up and my legs are getting stronger. I’m averaging about 100 miles a week and my goal is to get up to 200. I mapped out the ride the other day and thought I’d share it. This is just the ride in. I take a slightly different route home due to traffic.
