Box Dog Pelican Sighting!

I was running late on my commute in today. Not sure why, because I was up earlier. Turned out to be a good thing though. I was sitting at a light in Echo Park and I saw a bike turn onto Sunset ahead of me. I thought there was something interesting about the bike, so I wanted to check it out. I mashed it up the hill, working hard to get the LHT up to this bike. As I pulled up behind the rider, I noticed that the blue looked very familiar. Could this be a Box Dog Pelican?

I said hi to the rider, and asked if that was indeed the case. Not only was I right, but Gabe works(ed) at Box Dog Bikes! Cool! I asked if I could take a picture of it and he graciously agreed. I’ll post the pic later.

In the meantime you can read about the bikes here on the Box Dog Blog. The bike is a front loading design that looks perfect for randonneuring. They were recently reviewed in Bicycle Quarterly, which is my favorite bike mag right now.
