Dept. of D.I.Y Bike Signs

On Wednesday’s commute, while stopped at a light, I noticed a new sign. Nice big, bold letters with Sharrows and a bike image saying “Caution, please pass with care.” I didn’t remember seeing them at all on Tuesday, so I guess they appeared overnight. I pulled over to snap a pic of this rare sight.

As I continued pedalin’ down Santa Monica Blvd, they were everywhere. Both in English and Spanish! I twittered about these new signs and other people were doing the same. @dudeonabike spotted some near Sunset, and some people spotted them down by Koreatown too.

By Thursday morning bloggers, like LA.streetsblog, had shared their stories about the signs. Joe Linton shared his knowledge of 2 organizations trying to take credit for the signs.
