Friday’s Commute

I’ve been pushing forward with my training and I’m really feeling the results. I managed to get in an extra long commute with Bruce on Friday night. We rode up and over Griffith Park, climbing up to the top of Trash Dump Hill. I climbed the hill with the Surly Long Haul Trucker in full commute mode. 50lbs! It was tough, but it was worth it. It wasn’t very clear, so I didn’t stop for too many photos, but on a clear day you can see Catalina. I’ll head back up there soon. I had another close encounter with a coyote. This one was bigger and bolder. He was just walking along the road, and didn’t seem to care that I stopped to photograph him. I’m trying to layout a 200k Permanent and I think I’ll add part of this ride to the route. It’s a nice one, with much of it car free. Hope you had a great weekend.

  • Very cool – lemme know when you have your permanent route mapped out and I’ll come ride it with you.

    • I’ll keep you posted Ryan, but I don’t think I could ride it fast enough for you.
