It’s been over a week since I pedaled anywhere. This flu has wreaked havoc on both Serbrina and I. We’ve both been a couple of zombies. Shufflin’ around the house in dazed state. I managed to work one day last week, but it took more out of me than I thought, and I wasn’t able to get on the bike all weekend. Instead, more sleeping and resting was all that happened this weekend.
On Saturday I parted ways with an old friend. My trusty Salsa Casseroll has gone on to a new owner. Another fellow multi-Salsa owner, so that’s a plus for me. It had been replaced with the Kogswell, and I just have no need for two bikes that are so similar. Also, I have a set of wheels to build for the Salsa Fargo, so the Casseroll will fund the purchase of the new parts. A new dynohub and tubeless rims to take me on new adventures. Looking back at where I’ve been on the Casseroll brings a smile to my face. First 300k, Double Century and 400k. What a great bike.
I feel like I have much catching up to do. Missing seven days on my bike leaves me feeling like I’ve fallen behind in my training and yearly goals. Hopefully I’ll feel up to riding again by Tuesday or Wednesday. I don’t want to get back to it before I’m ready though. I want this flu/cough gone. I want to be done with it for good!
