Salsa Fargo. Faster Than A Motorcycle?

I love descending this road. It’s got nice flowing corners. Mix in some dirt and decreasing radius turns, and you better keep on your toes. It takes me about 30 minutes to climb it on the Fargo, but only 7 minutes to get down. Well, if I hadn’t been blocked by a motorcycle, I could’ve done it faster.

  • What road is that, and why are there so many cars parked along it?

    • Hi Chris,

That is the road up to Chantry Flats. It’s Santa Anita Ave, and it climbs above Arcadia. It’s a popular spot for day hikes and mountain biking. You have to get there early to get a spot in the parking lot and if not you park along the road. Those are the cars you see

Hey. I’m not sure if you’ve answered this somewhere, if so, I apologize. I’ve been looking at the Fargo for a long, long time now and am close to pulling the trigger. I’m curious how tall you are and what size Fargo you chose and why. I’m right inbetween the medium and large and can’t seem to decide, even after test riding both sizes. I’ve always favored bikes that are slightly small for me, but most people say to go for larger Fargo. I’m wondering what your opinion is. Many thanks.

Sorry for the delay. I was riding the Tour Divide for the past week.

I’m only 5’7″. I ride a small. I strongly considered the medium but the stand-over height was a little too tall for me. I wanted the larger frame for the larger frame triangle. However, the small fits me perfectly. Good luck!
