This coming October I will be participating in another BikeMS event to raise money to kick MS in the balls. People ask why I ride and I’ll tell you. My mom has MS, and my friend Aaron has MS. Those are two solid reasons right there. Two solid people that should not have to deal with this crap. So I pedal my bike, up and over hills, for many miles at a time, to raise money for these two important people.
This year I’m going to make it harder by riding my fatbike 100 miles on Saturday and 50 miles on Sunday. Yeah, that’s gonna tough, but it’s still easier than living with a chronic disease, no matter what it is. Riding a fatbike will hopefully get more people to pay attention to the ride, especially since it’s a hilly route. Anything helps right?
This year Team Frontage Roads has grown and we are up to seven members. We’ve more than doubled our team from last year and hopefully we can meet our goal of $10,000 this year. We’re doing great so far. Keep us going!
Please donate to this cause. It’s a good one. It’s a personal one that means a ton to me. I like to ride my bike, but if I can ride my bike and make a difference, well, that makes all the difference. When I’m out pedalin’ I want to make sure that it’s not for a selfish reason. I want to make the miles count. With your help we can make the miles count. Click here to donate!
A few months ago I met Lee through the internet. I was riding my local BikeMS event for my Mom and my good friend Aaron. This was my second year riding the event and the first year as a team captain. Our Team Upness ended up raising over $7,000! Pretty cool.
Around the same time Lee was riding his local BikeMS in Utah for his friend Leith. Lee didn’t just “ride” his event though. Oh no, that’s not enough, he rode his his first Century AND he did it on a fatbike! Oh yeah, he added 1 pound of weight to every $100 he raised too! He even made the news! So I knew this guy was rad, maybe even a little crazy. My kind of guy.
We’ve kept in touch and Lee hatched a crazy plan. What if he could get a group of fatbikers together to have a full fatbike team at the next BikeMS event in Utah? Lee reached out to me and I signed up right away. Traveling to ride your bike with new friends in new places is fun, but doing those things AND doing some sort of good is RADICAL!!
So I’m going to be traveling from Los Angeles, CA to Logan, UT to participate in BikeMS Harmons Best Dam Bike Ride on June 28th and 29th. I’ve never pedaled there so I’m looking forward to experiencing the state of Utah from the seat of my Mukluk and with some new friends on team Beards and Gears. I’m doing this to raise awareness of the lame as s#$t disease called MS. I’m doing this for my Mom, for Aaron, for Leith and for everyone else that has a friend or loved one affected by MS. FU MS!
Please consider supporting us on this crazy adventure. We very much appreciate any and all donations.
