Matt is putting on his super fun race again this year. “Feel My Legs, I’m A Racer” is a tour of Los Angeles with hill climb sprints mixed in. I really enjoy tagging along for this event. I don’t race, but I learn of new roads/hills every time I go. In fact, my new hilly commute is a direct result of following along this race.
The race consists of 10 or so super steep hills and points are awarded to the fastest riders. Riders with the most points at the end win. These hills are no joke, as Matt has done his homework and only uses the steepest or longest hills LA has to offer. The ride in between the hills is a casual, social ride. No one gets dropped, and only the racers have to race up the hills. Everyone else is free to do it at their own pace.
This year’s event will be held on April 28th. If’n you’re in town, and you want to learn about the hidden hills and cobblestones of the city, do yourself a favor and come on out. Check out the pics and videos from last year here! Even more here!
